Private Credit Drives RWA Market to $24B as Tokenization Gains Traction
Tokenized real-world assets (RWAs) have surged to a $24 billion valuation in June 2025, up from $5-$10 billion in 2022, marking the sector as crypto's second-fastest-growing category after stablecoins. RedStone's H1 2025 report highlights private credit—non-bank loans to corporations—as the dominant force behind this expansion.
"Private credit has become the backbone of tokenization's real-world utility," says Marcin Kaźmierczak, RedStone co-founder. "Institutions aren't just experimenting with blockchain—they're deploying capital at scale and innovating with RWA looping strategies." The asset class traditionally suffered from illiquidity due to multi-year lockups, despite offering 8%-12% yields. Tokenization now enables secondary trading of these loans.
